Hello People!

Can we Have Some Truth Here?

Does anyone really like to work…that is, at a job? Many say they love their jobs, but I’m not so sure. This is especially true when the jobs people love at the companies they work for and the bosses that they report to can be and are often easily are outsourced by these bosses/companies. Or maybe the jobs are eliminated or merged into another department where those people (that is, you) are no longer needed.

Loving Your Job

I believe that people say they love their jobs, but perhaps the truth is that it’s easier to convince yourself that you love your job rather than live in quiet desperation staring endlessly during those work hours at a glassine screen while you depress keys, attend meetings, send e-mails or write reports. Do you wake up in the morning and think, “I can’t wait to get to work! …Probably not.

This is not to say that there aren’t wonderful jobs, wonderful companies and fantastic bosses. There are. But for the most part, many find those situations at smaller more entrepreneurial companies. Larger companies seem to be invested in making sure that “bad things don’t happen!” They are, through no fault of their own (the companies, that is), straddled with strangulating governmental regulations, nosy useless government bureaucrats and sometimes an endless stream of anti business sentiment that is generated by some in the mass media. Therefore, larger companies have to play defense and try to anticipate regulation, new higher taxes and the continuing over reach of the federal government. What to do? If you can handle it, just stay there?

Your Options

If you can’t, you have three options: 1. find a new career outside of the world of large companies and its culture  2. work in a smaller more entrepreneurial company or  3. start your own company. At any rate, I value your opinions and observations and would love it if you wish to share your thoughts in this blog.
